Research and experience proves that lotions for stretch marks can help to some extent in fading stretch marks. Certain creams and lotions re-hydrate the skin and help it to maintain its elasticity, especially during pregnancy or weight gain.

Stretch marks are aggravated due to dryness and itchiness of the skin. It is advisable to use anti stretch marks creams and oils to reduce stretch marks after pregnancy. These lotions for stretch marks reduce dryness and stimulate the skin resulting in good circulation.

There are a number of treatments available to deal with stretch marks today. Most of them are expensive and need recovery time.  But the easiest way of reducing stretch marks is to go in for regular massage and rubbing of lotions and creams that help fade them away.

Studies reveal that creams that contain Vitamin A or Vitamin E can prove to be effective on stretch marks. Popularly known creams derived from Vitamin A are Tretinoin, or Retin-A. These creams can prove to be beneficial but are not recommended to pregnant women or while breastfeeding.

Lotions that contain Vitamin E and creams that have AHAs (Alpha Hydrox Acid/fruit acid) can effectively work away at diminishing these marks. Vitamin E works especially well as it is a good anti-oxidant. It nourishes the cells and protects the skin from damage caused by unsightly stretch marks. Besides fading the marks they keep the skin soft and supple.
